Little Things

It is amazing how quickly little things add up when you are living abroad.  Recently, we were having problems with our kitchen sink.  I called the maintenance man who works for our apartment complex to come have a look.

Upon entering our residence, he quickly inquired as to whether or not I had any tools that he could use.  After learning that I did not, he informed me that he would not be able to help me.  I asked if he could refer me to a professional who could help, and he responded that he didn't know of anyone and then bid me a cheerful "good day."

In the end we were able to resolve this issue with a cheap plunger, but I had already begun making plans to get by with only half a kitchen sink!  This is just one example of how something that would be small back home becomes quite large abroad.  Many of you who have traveled abroad can relate to this I'm sure!
