Florida Trip

We had a positive trip this weekend. We traveled to Central Florida for the weekend and had a good meeting and several meaningful get togethers. We did have some car trouble, but were able to get the car serviced and get back home. Caleb danced happily in his room last night. We love you all.

Western products can be found ...

This is a shop close to the school we will attend that caters to Westerners. You will pay more for products from home, but it will be nice to have something familiar now and then.

Bright lights, big city

The city is strikingly modern in some areas. However, contrast is a key word in describing what I observed. Similar to metropolitan areas in the US, a few city blocks can make the difference between affluence and mere existence. Here are a couple of shots from the business district. The third shot is a panoramic view of the city I took on our return from the minority village.

Country Village

We took a day trip to a minority village about a 45 minute van drive from the city we stayed in. To get to this village, we had to leave paved roads. It was great to get out of the city and see the countryside. We didn't see many people in this village. Our van driver said they were likely out working in the fields.

Awww!!!!!

I just had to insert this adorable picture of Caleb amongst the trip entries. He's growing so fast. He'll be turning 2 October 14th! He's a special gift.

Huh?!

Just wanted to introduce you to a cultural difference I found quite shocking. You can use your imagination to discern how these might be used. The more civilised toilet is in a nice coffee shop. The more rugged toilet is in the minority village we visited that was about a forty-five minute drive from the city.
