Someone else had a birthday too...

On March 14th, we pulled out the birthday hat, candles, and balloons again as Susanna turned three.  Susanna was very excited--she loves birthdays, and had been counting down the days for quite a while!

Again just a simple family party made the day very special for us all.  Throughout the morning and lunchtime, we played games, looked at pictures and videos of her life, talked about our favorite memories with her and told her things we love about her.
Then after naps it was time for cake (strawberries are her favorite!)...

... and presents!!!  She'd been waiting for quite some time to open gifts that had come in previous packages from grandparents and aunts and uncles, so she was pretty excited when gift time came!

























She was still happy to share her new dolls with her sister, who was very appreciative, as you can see in this video.  (Emily is saying "thank you" and Susanna is saying "You're welcome" in the local language.)

Caleb had a gift for her too--a card he made.

She loved it, of course!

We still never take a moment with her for granted. She is so healthy now, so happy and vibrant and precious.  She brims with laughter and loves easily, and we are so thankful for our sunshine Susanna.
