TV Personality sets a good example ...
While here, we don't have easy access to American television. So we brought some DVD's of television series we thought might contribute positively to our family. As a girl, Gracy watched quite a bit of Little House on the Prairie. I remembered thinking it was boring. We watch one or two episodes a week as a family, and I have been impressed by the depth with which the writers explored the human experience. Being a husband and father, I have most readily identified with Charles Ingalls. Sometimes, with good intentions, we inform men they are to follow more of the example of Mr. Rodgers (no offense, Fred) than our Father. In the character played by Michael Landon, I see a man of faith who wrestles with how to apply his principles in extreme circumstances. I don't often get to observe a man I respect so closely. And though Charles is a character, the convictions and values that inspired his creation inspire and teach me.
